Morgan, Britney, Melani and Amber will be assisting Dr. Higgins in any treatment you may need. All have had extensive training in different aspects of dental assisting. They have each completed the requirements to be certified by the Kentucky Board of Dentistry as Expanded Duties Dental Assistants, which means they are able to assist Dr. Higgins on a much higher level.
Lory, Sarabeth, and Jennifer will be cleaning and caring for your teeth at your 6 month oral health visits. They will take any x-rays that you are routinely due for, or to isolate a problem that you may be experiencing. They will use an intra-oral camera to give you a “tour” of your mouth using photos. They will give you an in-depth explanation about how your mouth is affecting your entire body. You will find that they are very patient conscious and have your comfort and concerns in mind at all times. They provide gentle, yet thorough cleanings while being attentive to any areas or your mouth that may be sensitive. They have received their degrees in Dental Hygiene from Lexington Community College and are also certified by the Kentucky Board of Dentistry to perform local anesthesia. They also have a special certification that allows them to treat patients if Dr. Higgins is not available to be in the office.
